Friends,
I received the most thoughtful, wonderful gift from my husband this past Christmas: a home office makeover!
If you follow me over on Instagram, you might have read the post (at the very beginning of the school year) where I shared a small, yet new, home office space set up in the brightest corner of our downstairs family room.
It wasn’t much at first, but it sure beat working off the kitchen table or lounging out on the couch in the evenings trying to work on my business or lesson plans/evaluations. Also, it prevented my baby from playing with (aka sabotaging) my pens, markers, printer buttons, paper, books, computer… if you have kids, you get the point!
It was a much-needed, very welcomed, home improvement. Though it wasn’t exactly Pinterest-worthy, I guess you could say, not that that was my ultimate goal. But hey, a girl can dream, right?!
So when my husband asked me a few days before Christmas (yes, he’s a last-minute shopper!) what I wanted for Christmas, I threw out the idea: artwork for my office.
Well, let’s just say: he more than delivered!
When I unwrapped my gift Christmas morning, a very large narrow package, inside I found two gorgeous black and white photos of wildlife: an elephant and a tiger (he knows me so well)!
Later on that morning, after another cup of coffee and after all the children’s gifts had been unwrapped (of course), he slid one last MASSIVE box towards me.
In all honestly, I was secretly–but very openly–hoping for a puppy this Christmas, but it was obvious that there were no air holes for one to have survived in a box for that long! Rather, wrapped inside was this beautiful white and grey office chair!
Not only that, he said that the last part of my gift was a promise to repaint the ugly wall downstairs, that my desk was facing, in the next couple of days.
WOW!
As I said, he more than delivered because my husband absolutely HATES painting walls. I mean: he REALLY despises painting. If that wasn’t an act of love, I don’t know what else is!!!
On another note and in the spirit of love and generosity, I have this amazing FREE resource I want to give you just in time for February: A Digital Daily Agenda for Valentine’s Day!
It’s a portion of another resource I currently have available in my Teachers Pay Teachers shop (you can check it out here). To get this V-day resource for free, join my mailing list before February 19th.
I hope you are all safe and healthy, and ready to tackle what looks like another rollercoaster of a school year!
Much love. Your friend,
Stephanie
