What about on your boss?!!

About 5 years ago my colleague, Lucie, and I played the best April Fools prank ever on our principal, Mr. H. That’s right, our boss.

With both of us members of the Social Committee, Lucie and I came up with the brilliant idea to invite coworkers to play pranks on each other the entire week leading up to April 1st. In order to motivate people to play, a prize would be awarded to the BEST prankster(s).

As expected, most pranks were silly and simple, while others were creepy and somewhat scary (such as the rat that was left in the staff lounge microwave).

But Lucie and I, however, were out to win the Grand Prize. We had cooked up the best prank of all, we were sure of it.

A few weeks earlier, we had located an old dirty toilet in the dungeon (school basement) while digging around for classroom furniture. As you can imagine, we went for it!

With our bare hands, we both hauled that dirty toilet up the narrow metal staircase and successfully snuck it into our principal’s office while he was away for the day, and everyone else was still in their classrooms.

Obviously, this was no easy task for two small women like us, but we managed to do it all (more or less) in secrecy.

In addition to the toilet, I took a paintbrush and hung it off his desk, and inserted a roll of toilet paper on the end.

Meanwhile, my partner in crime taped a message across Mr. H’s desk, which read:

For the man who never has enough time…

The joke was priceless and needless to say, I think our principal was pretty darn peeved when he walked into his office the next day!

And you know what? I don’t even know if we ever confessed to our principal that we were the ones responsible.

What’s more, I don’t even remember if we won the grand April Fools prize!!!

And poor Mr. R, our concierge, had to lug the dirty thing back down to the dungeon because obviously the principal’s new “throne” had to go!

I have to know, do you have any pranks in the works for your colleagues and/or students today? Because I’d really love to steal some of your ideas! 😉

Wishing you a hilarious April Fools!

Stephanie
